- Floating Selections are only imported as normal layers.
This behaviour may never change. The Selection itself is
also read though and therefore it can be recreated as a
floating one.
- The plugin does not clean up on failure correctly with
current gimp 1.1 versions, this means that an image is
selectable in the layer dialog which goes away when the
list is refreshed. The bad thing is that GIMP crashes if
this is selected. Is this a bug in the GIMP code?
- Linking layers can not be supported 100 percent with
current GIMP versions. Furthermore, this only works in
GIMP versions 1.1 and later.
- As this software is not well tested on systems other
than x86/Linux, this will likely lead to trouble. At least
src/lib/hwspecific.c and
src/lib/debug.c need tweaking around with
defines on some systems. See the file README
in the top-level directory. Tests made under AIX 4.1 on
RS/6000 using gcc showed that the pre0.2beta1 version is
working on big-endian platforms too.
- Dodge mode layers don't show up in GIMP 1.1 versions
prior to March 8, 1999 because the PDB interface has not
been updated before - this is in fact not a bug in the
plugin.
- The layer user mask positioning code might need more
changes to set correct offsets in all theoretically
possible cases.
- Several other bugs, bad or unintended features
concerning the library are described in the appropriate
manpages.
- If unit/resolution support is wanted for gimp version
1.1.3 (cvs snapshots having gimp_image_set_unit),
GIMP_HAVE_UNITS must be defined in
src/Makefile.
